NLP stands for ‘Neuro Lingusitic Programming’
and NLP is frequently known as the “instruction manual for your mind”.
NLP looks at the way in which we think and process our thoughts (Neuro), the language patterns we use (Linguistic) and our behaviours (Programming) and how these interact to have a positive (or negative) effect on us as individuals.
The co-creators of NLP defined NLP as follows:
“NLP is an attitude which is an insatiable curiosity about human beings with a methodology that leaves behind it a trail of techniques.”
-Richard Bandler (co-creator of NLP)
“The strategies, tools and techniques of NLP represent an opportunity unlike any other for the exploration of human functioning, or more precisely, that rare and valuable subset of human functioning known as genius.”
-John Grinder (co-creator of NLP)
NLP is a collection of techniques aimed at realising visionary goals by harnessing the most dynamic and positive beliefs and behaviour we can muster.
If every day, we take positive action towards achieving our goals then our motivation and sense of achievement grow, fuelling our confidence and making even the wildest of dreams possible. Each small step has a cumulative affect on our progress. And creating a vision is the key to ensuring the steps we take are heading in the right direction.
There is a whole range of NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) techniques to help people deal with a diversity of issues ranging from anxiety, phobias and panic attacks to pain control, weight loss and addictions. NLP is also a great way of dealing with lack of confidence, increasing self-esteem and improving relationships. All of us, at some stage in our lives, suffer from emotional problems and their consequences.
Just imagine changing the self limiting beliefs that restrict your freedom and stop you from doing all kinds of things. The possibilities for making the most of your life by using NLP to fundamentally change the way you think are almost endless. And used in conjunction with hypnotherapy, NLP becomes an even more powerful, life-enhancing tool for positive change.
